Course Completion Requirements
  • Students must complete the required courses and credits specified by the department for graduation. 
  • Before graduation, students must complete one semester of Teaching Internship.
  • Students must complete one of the following professional required course groups (four courses) before graduation:
    • A: Molecular Biology and Physiology Group
    • B: Biological Resources Group
    • C: Marine Chemistry and Natural Medicine Group
  • Master’s Thesis Requirement: The thesis must focus on marine science or its applications and demonstrate the student’s ability to conduct independent research.
  • Research Ethics Training Requirement: Graduate students must complete the Academic Research Ethics Education Course before the end of their first academic year as per university regulations. Those who fail to complete this requirement will not be eligible to apply for the degree examination.
  • Seminar Requirements: Each group’s "Seminar III" and "Seminar IV" are mandatory courses for second-year master's students. If a student is unable to take these courses, approval from both the advisor and the department chair is required.
  • Academic Participation Requirement: During their studies, students must participate in the department’s Columbus Award competition and present at least once at an external academic conference.
