主題: 探討白皮杉醇抗登革熱病毒的機制Exploring the antiviral mechanisms of piceatannol against dengue virus

學生:黃祥祐

指導教授:李景欽教授

Background

Dengue virus (DENV), belonging to the family Flaviviridae and the genus Flavivirus, is an enveloped, single-stranded, positive-sense RNA virus transmitted by Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. It causes hundreds of millions of infections annually in tropical and subtropical regions. Severe cases can lead to dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) and dengue shock syndrome (DSS), both of which significantly increase the burden on healthcare systems. Currently, there are no approved antivirals or safe and effective vaccines available for DENV treatment.  Piceatannol (PIC: trans-2,3′,4’,5-tetrahydroxystilbene, also known as Astringine), a hydroxy analogue of resveratrol, commonly is found in dietary sources such as grapes, blueberries, and passion fruit. Previous studies have demonstrated that PIC exhibits multiple bioactive properties, including anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory effects.
