Background
Dengue virus (DENV) causes dengue fever. In our preliminary study, we identified a drug used to treat active tuberculosis (Compound B). In cell-based experiments, Compound B was found to inhibit viral replication and reduce the mortality rate of DENV-infected mice in animal models. Previous studies have shown that Compound B binds to the Fo subunit of F-type FoF1 ATP synthase (ATPase), inhibiting ATP synthesis and energy production, thereby suppressing viral replication. Based on these findings, this study aims to investigate whether Compound B exerts its antiviral effects by inhibiting ATP synthesis, explore its detailed mechanisms, and examine its activity in suppressing inflammation.
